Residents of the Indian suburb of Nagpur, in the state of Maharashtra, married two frogs in a solemn ritual to help usher in the monsoon season, Al Arabiya reports, quoting an article in the Times of India.
The groom, Raja, and the bride, Rani, were wed over the weekend. Similar ceremonies were held across India.
According to Indian tradition, if frogs are wed in Vedic or Hindu rituals, the ‘rain god’ may be appeased.
