The UAE’s central bank governor, Sultan bin Nasser Al Suweidi, called on the GCC to establish a regional financial market amid claims the GCC’s individual markets failed to globalize financial services, reported WAM on Sunday.
”The proposed stock market will act as an alternative when global financial markets stop trading at time of crisis,” Al Suweidi said at a meeting of central bank governors and monetary agencies at the sidelines of the annual IMF-World Bank meeting in Turkey.
