UAE has best “quality of life” in the region
Globally, the UAE ranked 15 out of the 160 countries on the Economist Intelligence Unit’s 2009 Quality of Life Index.

The UAE has been ranked first among countries in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region on the 2009 Quality of Life Index prepared by Economist Intelligence Unit. The ranking was based on the UAE’s “impressive civic development and administration and high GDP growth, as well as family and healthcare services, life expectancy, and safety and security,” said a statement released by the Emirates Competitiveness Council.
Globally, the country ranked 15 out of the 160 countries on the index.
