The UAE’s Health Ministry will have a virology laboratory to conduct tests for swine flu within the next 60 days, reports official news agency, WAM. An H1N1 virus test can be conducted within 24 hours at the new lab, says the report.
“The modern reference lab will be built in Al Qasimi Hospital in Sharjah and will be a new addition to the already existing lab services,” an official told WAM.
“Once operational, the lab will examine samples taken from patients, thus saving time and energy of medical professionals and patients whereas some samples are usually sent to Abu Dhabi or even abroad for testing,” he said.

DO WE HAVE ANY LAB IN DUBAI AT PRESENT? IT IS GOOD THAT THE CLIMATE HERE IS HOT BUT MOST OF THE PLACES ARE CENTRAL AIRCONDITIONED ALMOST ALL THE TIME. WITH SCHOOLS STARTING IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO DETECT AND CONTROL THE VIRUS ASAP.
