The UAE foreign minister rejected calls from the US government to review the acquittal of Sheikh Issa bin Zayed al-Nahyan, the half-brother of Abu Dubai’s ruler and president of the UAE, reports Zawya Dow Jones.

“There’s no way the UAE government is going to get involved on any court ruling,” Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is also related to Sheikh Issa, said. “If we start doing so, what does that tell us about any court system in any country in the world? That defeats the point of an independent judiciary.”

On Sunday, a UAE court found Sheikh Issa not guilty of torturing Mohammed Shah Poor, an Afghan business man.

US is even crooked and down bent. They do anything for money. They can’t lose a relationship with oil rich country for a Afghani guy! So we are not expecting any further improvement on this case from here on. Ladies and Gentleman the case is closed. And this is called independent judiciary!

To be honest – the minister has a point. The govt cannot interfere with the court. That would be meddling. One may have an opinion about the acquital or the case.

Does this mean we can all claim diminished or no responsibility for our crimes if we can produce a doctor who swears in court that we were under the influence of some medicine or the other ?

Will all the judges accept that and release us ?

This is opening the Pandoras’s box. The rich and famous now have a precedent and a convenient loop hole with which to escape punishment for their crimes.
