The number of mobile phone subscribers to the UAE’s communications providers, du and Etisalat, rose to 7.44 million at the end of the third quarter of 2009, up 2.5 percent, or 180,000 subscribers compared to the previous period, reports Khaleej Times.
Analysts at AL Mal Capital in Dubai expected a loss of 50,000 in the third quarter, following a loss of 81,000 subscribers in the second quarter.
