UAE signs new agreement with US on nuclear energy
The arrangement allows for the exchange of technical information, training of personnel, and access to technical laboratories between the two countries.

The UAE Foreign Ministry signed an “implementation arrangement” with the US Department of Energy on Wednesday, to exchange information and cooperation on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy, reported official news agency WAM. The arrangement allows for the exchange of technical information, training of personnel, access to US’s Department Of Energy technical laboratories, conduction of workshops and other joint cooperation activities, said the report.
“We welcome this collaboration with the UAE to reduce carbon pollution through the development of clean sources of energy,” said the US Secretary of Energy, Steven Chu. “This Arrangement is part of the Obama Administration’s commitment to ensuring peaceful nuclear power is an important part of the global energy mix,” he added.
