Schools in the UAE will be closed down if they don’t hire at least one nurse trained to conduct screening of suspected H1N1 cases, Humaid Al Qattami, the Minister of Education told Khaleej Times. “We will not tolerate any school that doesn’t hire a nurse as both the federal and local governments are doing their best.” he said. “Ignoring this critical issue by any school is tantamount to a crime that we will not accept.”
Al Qattami said that the education and health ministries’ would conduct surprise inspections of schools, and those found violating the rules would have their licenses cancelled immediately.
