A 43-second video filmed by Israel’s Border Police of a Palestinian man ordered to slap himself and sing ‘Ana behibak Mishmar Hagvul’ ["I love the Border Police? in a mix of Arabic and Hebrew] instigated an investigation into abuse at border crossings by Israel-based newspaper the Haaretz.
The newspaper found a number of similar clips on video-sharing website YouTube, and attempted to contact those who uploaded them, but to no avail.
According to the report, none of the policemen interviewed were reprimanded by the high command in the Border Police for their treatment of Palestinians.
