The University Academy of Excellence, a new elementary and secondary school based in Dubai, will open on September 2.

The school is owned by Dubai Education LLC who also owns the Canadian University of Dubai. The school has the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) license and will be teaching the internationally accredited Cambridge British Curriculum. The school will be accepting applicants from FS1 to Year 6. Among the new students joining will be some from Dubai’s Jumeirah St. Andrews School.

Principal Kamel Fodil, former vice president of student affairs at the Canadian University of Dubai, created the school and added value to it through his 22 years of experience in elementary and secondary education in Canada.

He explains: “We have everything at the school to enable children to succeed. We are transforming our facilities into state-of-the-art [technology] – we already have smartboards in every classroom, computers, and sports facilities.”

Chairman of Dubai Education, Buti Saeed Al Ghandi, says: “We have achieved our aim of building a school with the highest possible standards. Following in the footsteps of our success with the Canadian University of Dubai, education is a priority in Dubai and the UAE – Dubai Education is fully committed to supporting that vision.”

New students will be accepted ahead of September 2, 2013. Enrolment and registration forms can be found at: www.theacademy.ae. For more information: +971 4 388 1388 or email [email protected].
