Aegis Media appoints Anitha Smith as its regional director – Strategy & Innovation
Fastest growing media and digital communications group in the Middle East, has named Anitha Smith as its regional director of Strategy & Innovation for the MENA region.

Mrs. Smith joins from OMD (UAE), where for a regional client she established regional teams across seven markets in MENA, implemented a ‘Standard Service Protocol’ and led the development of OMD Academy.
Prior to joining OMD, Anitha was a media manager at Initiative (UAE) and Group Head of Planning at Mediacom (India).
She has designed communication solutions for varied brands across industries including Barclays, Emirates, Fonterra, GE, Henkel, Johnson & Johnson, Pizza Hut and Wrigley’s.
Anitha will play a pivotal role, leading Aegis Media’s strategic planning capabilities by creating a new revenue stream for the agency based on advanced analytics that will be integrated with its proprietary Consumer Connection Study (CCS).
Speaking about Mrs Smith’s appointment, Michael Nederlof, CEO of Aegis Media Middle East and North Africa said: “Anitha has led a number of high profile marketing programmes and brings a wealth of consulting, planning and business development experience to Aegis Media. Her planning and strategic experience is vital as we continue our ambitious plans to expand our footprint and brand solutions for clients.”

Anitha will be responsible for growing revenues through the planning function and will report directly into Aegis Media’s regional CEO, Michael Nederlof. She will work closely with the senior team across Carat, Isobar and iProspect to formulate new planning strategies and align Aegis Media’s ongoing plan to improve productivity in terms of time, cost and quality.
