Al Ahli Announce Historic Three-Year Partnership with BMW

AGMC provides twenty-eight luxury vehicles to club players, staff and board members.

Al Ahli Football Club have announced the signing of a three-year partnership with BMW to make the premium automotive manufacturer the official automotive partner of the club. The deal, the first of its kind in the UAE, highlights the club’s growing commercial strategy, which aims to make it commercially profitable in the near future. As part of the deal, AGMC, the exclusive importer of BMW in Dubai , Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, will provide a fleet of twenty-eight luxury BMW vehicles for the use of Al Ahli’s backroom staff and board members. In addition, Al Ahli fans will be able to avail of special deals on certain BMW vehicles and VIP services for special guests. The club is also set to launch competitions in which fan can win chauffeur-driven VIP transport in BMW vehicles to and from home matches for them and their friends. Mr. Ahmed Khalifa Al Hammad, CEO of Al Ahli Football Club said, “Al Ahli is the first football club in the UAE to sign a long-tem commercial partnership with an automotive manufacturer, and we are delighted to be associated with a premium brand like BMW. This partnership is part of our plan to make this club dependent financially and commercially profitable, and to ensure it functions as a professional entity both on and off the pitch.” Stathis I. Stathis, General Manager of AGMC said, “Our partnership with Al Ahli is the latest chapter in AGMC and BMW’s history of supporting local and international sports in the UAE – a history that has included golf, sailing, motorsport, and now football. We look forward to a successful relationship with the club, its management and most importantly, its continuously-growing fan base of loyal supporters.” An overhaul of the club’s operational structure has seen increases in the number of fans attending home games to see club stars such as Italian World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro and Ahmed Khalil, the hero of UAE’s recent Silver Medal performance at the Asian Games in China. As a gesture of goodwill to home fans, the Chairman of the Board of Directors has bought every ticket for home games in order for fans to attend for free. AGMC, on the other hand, has recently opened the first phase of an AED80 million expansion of its flagship showroom on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road. Covering a total area of 33,000 square meters, the showroom features state-of-the-art sales and after-sales facilities, 24 hour Fast Lane Service, a dedicated workshop for BMW 7 Series, X5 and X6 customers and a new car delivery area.
