Al Tayyar Cargo Services Surpasses 4,500,000 tons through its import division
An increase in over 200% from 2009.

Al Tayyar Cargo Services, one of the major subsidiaries of Al Tayyar Travel Group, announced today that its import division had passed 4,500,000 tones of imported goods to the Kingdom. As an established and leading international transportation and cargo agency based in Riyadh, it has branches at all major cities in Saudi Arabia and has agents in 250 cities worldwide.
For the year ending 2009 the total tonnage of exports through Al Tayyar Cargo Services was 10,415,098 and Al Tayyar is on target to increase that number in 2010. Significantly there has been an increase of over 207% in the tonnage of imports through Al Tayyar Cargo Services in 2010 from last year. As of September 30th 2010 Al Tayyar Cargo Services has imported 4,613,055 tons of goods in to Saudi Arabia an increase from the total imported tonnage from 2009 which stood at 1,499,045.
Guade Wandomagen Regional Manager for Al Tayyar Cargo Services said “I am delighted that the figures from both our import and export division are so positive and shows that we are heading in the right direction.”
He continued to say “We started in 1985 in very humble beginnings, there was no cargo office or warehouse facilities and we stored our shipments in the corridors of Dr. Nasser Al Tayyar ‘s office. I would stand outside the local supermarket with my billboard and ask the customers if they had any packages that needed delivering and then personal make sure that they reached their destination.” He continued to add “Within 6 months we had 4 employees and have continued to grow ever since, today we have 220 employees, 95 vehicles and are one of the largest international cargo agencies within the Kingdom.”
Al Tayyar Cargo services has a number of exclusive contracts with international airlines and is the only approved freight forwarder in Saudi Arabia by the British Embassy and handle all of the cargo for British Airways and BMI. They have a number of contracts with the Saudi Government one of which is to ship dates to 450 locations around the world.

Al Tayyar Cargo Services is made up of 4 main departments, these are:
Freight: This handles all services related to air, sea and land transportation, including express door-to-door delivery.
Customs Clearance: Responsible for handling the clearance of inbound and outbound good by air, land or sea. It ensures that all customs formalities and port of entry requirements are met to ensure that the cargo is delivered to the consignee in the shortest possible time.
Carpentry Centre: This department was formed to meet the growing demand for customized packing; the centre not only caters to the needs of Al Tayyar Cargo Services but also to a number of other freight forwarding companies within the Kingdom.
Packing and Crating: An added component that ensures moving is carefree and can handle any nature of goods from household items to bulky scientific equipment.
