Booksplus an affiliate part of Apparel Group felicitated His Hon. Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar, former Diplomat and a former Cabinet Minister on the occasion of signing & launching of his latest releases--- “A Time of Transition”, “Confessions of a Secular Fundamentalist.”

The event was held on November 5th at the Crowne Plaza, Sheikh Zayed Road, in the presence of H.E. Mr. Talmiz Ahmad –Ambassador of India, Mr. Nilesh Ved – Chairman Apparel Group, press and other Dignitaries & Socialites. The launching of his books was followed by an exchange of views and opinions from those present at the event. Mr. Aiyar also addressed his thoughts on the topic - “Growth & Equity; India is prospering & Indians are not!

Hon. Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar

Born on 10th April 1941 in Lahore, Hon. Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar

had his education at some of the most prestigious institutions in India. Having completed his schooling at the Doon School – Dehradun, he persued his college studies from Delhi University and further moved for higher studies to Cambridge University in the UK.

From being a trade unionist to a political social worker, Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar has contributed immensely to the society. He was re -elected for a 3rd term in the 14th Lok Sabha elections. He is an eminent columnist elections and contributes to various newspapers and periodicals in India. He has held many elite Offices in the Government of India and was awarded the ‘Most Outstanding Parliamentarian Award’ by the Hon President of India – Smt. Pratibha Devsingh Patil.
