APPAREL GROUP PRESENTS: WALK IN STYLE… WALK FOR A CAUSE A charity initiative in support of the Red Crescent
Dubai has shown many times in the past that it is a city that cares. This time, the residents of this enterprising Emirate are expected to come forward in large numbers to help the Red Crescent collect clothes for the needy people around the world.

A noble cause
The objective is to collect clothes, which will be donated to the Red Crescent for distribution to the needy in different parts of the globe.

Echoing Mr. Ganwani's views, Nilesh Ved, chairman of Apparel Group, said, “We carry out a CSR (Corporate social responsibility) exercise every year. This year too we call upon people to support us wholeheartedly by bringing their entire family for this event. In these difficult times, we as human beings, need to stand together.”
The event promises to be a mix of fashion, fun and family entertainment and incorporates several firsts in the history of this city that is known to set new standards.
The many firsts
For the first time, thousands of people, ranging in ages from one to 100, are expected to walk the ramp for a cause in an unusual fashion show. In order to participate, all they have to do is donate a minimum of two items of clothing.
A large number of students from the various schools and colleges in the UAE are expected to take part in this charity initiative.
In addition, Emirati fashion designers will be displaying their newest collections and will be given the opportunity to showcase their creative talent to a wide and varied audience.

The donated items of clothing will be placed in a huge cylinder that spans two floors. The organizers have already succeeded in collecting 15,000 kilos of clothing. They, however, hope to collect much more during the event, which starts at

As promised, it will be a fun-filled evening during which
Five prominent Dubai-based DJs - Hani, Sash, Zubair, Tushar, Jeff and Benson will be entertaining the multi-cultural audience.
The show will be hosted by Kritika of Citi 101.6 and Hadeel of Al Arabiya.
Gifts galore
Participants will get a certificate of participation along with a Dhs25 voucher from the Apparel Group and a 25% discount voucher from Cold Stone creamery. They will also be eligible to win several attractive spot prizes and goody bags that will be given away to the lucky winners.
