Blue Coat Names Security Market Visionary Dr. Hugh Thompson as Senior Vice President and Chief Security Strategist

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, September 4, 2012– Blue Coat Systems, Inc., a leading provider of Web security and WAN optimization solutions, today announced that it has named Dr. Hugh Thompson as senior vice president and chief security strategist. Dr. Thompson is a luminary in the security industry and has co-authored three books and more than 80 academic and industry publications on information security. In his new role, he will focus on aligning Blue Coat’s vision and product implementation to market requirements. Dr. Thompson will report to President and Chief Operating Officer David Murphy.
