DISTREE Middle East extends geographic reach to open up new retail channels
Region’s premier business-focused forum for ICT and consumer electronics (CE) vendors, distributors and retailers invites leading players from Africa, Turkey and CIS to join 2013 Abu Dhabi event
ABU DHABI, 13 March 2013: DISTREE Middle East has announced that it will invite senior executives from leading ICT and CE retailers in Africa, Turkey and CIS states to participate in its 2013 event. The inclusion of these new geographies opens up channel growth opportunities in fast-growing markets for exhibitors attending DISTREE Middle East, which takes place from May 21st to 23rd in Abu Dhabi.
Farouk Hemraj, CEO and co-founder at DISTREE Events, explained: “The expansion of the retailer delegate base to cover the entire Middle East, Turkey, Africa & CIS (METACIS) region reflects the changing way that vendors are approaching and managing retail channels in this region.”
“DISTREE Middle East will bring together senior retail executives from across the METACIS region in one place at one time. With a structured agenda based on pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings, this year’s event offers a powerful channel platform for ICT and CE vendors and distributors looking to expand, manage or build new routes-to-market in this fast-growing region,” Hemraj added.
DISTREE Middle East attracts more than 600 senior executives each year and is completely focused on business-to-business interaction between vendors, distributors and retailers. DISTREE Middle East 2013 takes place at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr Hotel in Abu Dhabi, UAE. DISTREE Middle East is a business-focused event, offering ICT and CE vendors and distributors the opportunity to interact with buyers from leading retailers and e-tailers from across the region.
DISTREE Middle East is far removed from a traditional trade show or exhibition. Using a unique format – developed by DISTREE Events and deployed in fast-growing emerging markets around the world – the three-day event allows each delegate to pre-schedule a personal agenda of one-on-one meetings based on their precise business needs.
Hemraj continued: “DISTREE Middle East allows delegates to schedule meaningful meetings with senior channel executives that align with their immediate business objectives. It is a ‘must attend’ event for senior retail channel executives in the region. There are no consumers and no distractions. The event offers three days of meetings and networking opportunities in a professional and business-focused environment.”
Delegates have the chance to attend keynote speeches and panel discussions, participate in interactive workshop sessions, attend one-on-one meetings, network with their peers and access the latest research on retail trends in the region. Evening functions, new product showcases and industry awards offer participants the widest possible range of business benefits.
Abu Dhabi’s growing reputation as a global business destination makes it the perfect venue for DISTREE Middle East 2013. The city’s excellent air and road links, cutting-edge technology infrastructure and outstanding conference and exhibition facilities offer an ideal location for a Middle East business-focused event that attracts ICT and CE manufacturers from around the world.
More than 1000 prescheduled one-on-one meetings took place at the most recent DISTREE Middle East. The inclusion of retail delegates from Africa, Turkey and CIS states is set to push this number even higher in 2013.
“We are focused on delivering an efficient event format,” added Hemraj. “We have seen major vendors such as Toshiba and Canon extend the geographic remit of their Middle East operation to cover new territories in METACIS. The event’s expanded geographic reach supports vendors and distributors as they look to increase business links with influential retailers across this vast region.” |
