Dubai, UAE, 18 August 2010: With floods continuing in Pakistan, du has decided to extend its reduced international calling rate to Pakistan until 23 August in order to help maintain contact between friends and family in the country. As a gesture to help families and friends get connected easily and affordably, this special offer provides a rate of just 1.5 fils/sec (90 fils per minute) on calls made to Pakistan at any time of the day or night from any du mobile phone or landline.
“Given the ongoing tragedy and suffering of those affected by the floods in Pakistan, we have decided to extend our reduced international calling rate to the country so that we can help connect friends and families. Our condolences are with those who have been affected by the recent tragedies in Pakistan, and we hope that this reduced calling rate will be of some comfort to those who may have been touched by the recent tragic events,” commented, Farid Faraidooni, Chief Commercial Officer, du.
The reduced calling rate will apply to all voice calls to Pakistan up until 23 August 2010 providing a significant reduction in calling rates, as the standard peak rate for calls to Pakistan during the day (9am-9pm) is AED 2.4 per minute, while only calls made during off-peak hours (9pm-9am) are usually priced at 1.5 fils per second (90 fils per minute).
Customers do not need to take any action. All calls made to Pakistan until 23 August, 2010 will be charged at this special rate.
