French paper machinery manufacturers scouting for local agents to tap regional market

Ten French companies will take part in 3rd edition of Paper Arabia to be held in Dubai from September 26 to 28.

Dubai, UAE, 20th September, 2010: French paper machinery manufacturers are scouting for agents in the UAE to represent them in the Middle East. These companies will showcase new solutions for the paper industry at Paper Arabia 2010, the specialized exhibition that will take place at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre from September 26 to 28, 2010.

The French participation at the show for the second consecutive year is primarily focused on finding new customers for the ten participating companies. The French firms are targeting not only customers of the UAE and the Gulf region but also from India, South Africa and other countries.

In 2009, there were 80 companies and 101 paper mills involved in the paper industry in France. In 2008, 9.4 metric tons of paper and board were produced. France was Number 10 in worldwide paper output and Number 5 in Europe.

“The Middle East paper industry widely uses French equipment which is renowned for high quality and cost-effective pricing,” says Satish Khanna, General Manager, Al Fajer Information and Services, organizers of Paper Arabia.

France boasts some of the oldest machinery producers in the world, and their expertise can help regional players boost the nascent paper industry in the Middle East. Some of the big French companies specialized in the manufacturing of paper already have offices in the UAE or sales representatives, while others are still looking for agents.

Paper Arabia offers opportunities to manufactures and suppliers of finished products, equipment, machinery, paper chemicals, services, supplies of paper, tissue and converting sector to tap the Middle East and North African markets.

Khanna added: “The French companies are looking on the show as an ideal platform to highlight latest solutions in paper industry, in an ambience where global players from the paper, tissue and converting industry will compete for better market positioning.”

The paper industry is witnessing spectacular growth, with several production centers and paper converting businesses coming up. In the two editions of this exhibition, Al Fajer succeeded in bringing to the notice of major international players the business potential in the region.

The show in its third edition will place special emphasis on hygiene and disposable products, reflected in the demand for various products such as wet wipes, baby diapers and sanitary napkins. Paper Arabia 2010 will be a key platform for traders and industry players to interact. The show’s participants include leading global names from the paper, tissue and converting sectors.

Manufacturers, converters, distributors and traders from all over the world will come to Paper Arabia to grow business and share expertise. The show will offer opportunities to manufactures and suppliers of finished products, equipment, machinery, paper chemicals, services, supplies of paper, tissue and converting sector to tap the Middle East and North African markets.

French companies are displaying a wide array of turnkey industrial units for the management, reception preparation and dosing of process or functional chemicals. Moreover, they will showcase advanced machinery for the paper making industry (stock preparation – paper machines – winders – vacuum pumps) and complete paper machines to meet the requirements of various customers.

Different kinds of fluids to the pulp and paper industry will also be displayed at the show which will demonstrate latest steam system and air system for paper machines as well as training and maintenance of the measuring devices of many laboratories of control and research.

Khanna added: “New companies in the show include Delta NEU and Pikoasur. The other French companies include ABK Machinery, IBC-PPC, Kadant, Metrasur, Noviprefibre, Pall Corporations, Solaronics, Bekaert, Thermopap and SYMOP, the French Association for manufacturing technologies.”
