Monday, March 4, 2013 Amman - iPARK, the multi-facility incubation park for start-up businesses in technology, today announced a major enhancement of the facilities and services it offers to early-stage Jordanian entrepreneurs. Having proven the strength and validity of an incubation model that was presented at MENA ICT Forum 2004, the 2013 forum coincides with the launch of its expanded presence.
The enhanced iPARK offers greater incubation capacity in terms of physical space, as well as increased value-added services, in order to ensure the continued success of this national program with a regional impact. iPARK is proud to build on its contributions to the Kingdom’s vital socio-economic development, and to offer its services to a new generation of Jordanian entrepreneurs and innovators.
iPARK initially partnered with int@j at the MENA ICT Forum in 2004 to champion the role of business incubation programs in fostering technology startups. At that time, four incubated ICT companies were presented to His Majesty King Abdullah II and to participants at the Forum.
In the intervening years, iPARK has pursued its mission to incubate the most promising ICT startups and to support innovative entrepreneurs. iPARK has successfully graduated more than 50 companies, many of which provide ICT services to Fortune 100 companies in their strategic areas of operation. Many iPARK-incubated companies have captured significant international and regional market shares.
Today, graduate companies are collectively valued at well over US$ 50 million and generate millions of Dollars in revenues. They provide thousands of high-value jobs and bring quality training to Jordanians seeking careers in ICT. iPARK has proven itself to be a sustainable and productive model for creating a vibrant environment in which innovative business ideas can grow.
iPARK has received recognition at home and abroad for its innovative approach. In 2009, the World Bank selected iPARK as a successful model to be emulated around the world, while in 2010, iPARK became a Full-Member of the European Business Innovation Centers Network (EBN), one of the very few incubators outside of Europe to be admitted to this prestigious organization.
Through its range of programs, including the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE), the Intellectual Property Office, and the Bedaya Business Angel Network, iPARK offers a unique and comprehensive service that greatly increases the opportunities for success for technology startups through better access to markets, finance and talent.
The strategic location of iPARK, next to major knowledge institutions such as the University of Jordan, Princess Sumaya University for Technology and The Royal Scientific Society, makes it be a hub for technology development and business innovation in Jordan.
