Janus Capital Participates in Dubai Marathon

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, February 18, 2013:  Janus Capital International Limited, the global investment firm, recently took part in the 14th annual Dubai Marathon held on January 25^th, 2013.  The team, which consisted of the firm’s family and friends, was led by Mr. Meshal Jaber AL Faras, the company’s head representative in the region.

“The Middle East is a region that is rapidly evolving and we are delighted to be able to contribute to the development of its investment management activities, as well as support the community to underscore our firm’s values”, said Al Faras.

“Participating in this world class competition was quite a unique experience involving weeks of training and preparation.  This approach that fall in line with the rigorous approach and discipline that Janus Capital has exercised over 43 years of operations worldwide”, added Al Faras.

The Marathon, 10 kilometer and 3 kilometer fun run saw unprecedented levels of participation with more than 24,000 runners.  Meanwhile thousands of volunteers, spectators and media cheered on the runners who were bidding to achieve a record-breaking event both in terms of the race time and the amounts given to charity.

The Dubai marathon is held annually under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai and under the aegis of the Dubai Sports Council.
