JCS Participates in Informatics and Telecommunication Week
The Jordan Computer Society participated in the Informatics and Telecommunication week organized by the Union of Arab ICT Association (iJMA3) in the MENA region, between the 26th and 28th of Jan. 2010 in Bahrain.

JCS Participates in Informatics and Telecommunication Week
13/02/2010 Amman - Manama – The Jordan Computer Society participated in the Informatics and Telecommunication week organized by the Union of Arab ICT Association (iJMA3) in the MENA region, between the 26th and 28th of Jan. 2010 in Bahrain.
In a statement, the society said that their participation in the most prominent event in the region stands-out in confirmation to their role in supporting informatics and telecommunication markets in Jordan and the region. It also represents the positive results the JCS has achieved in along their career.
The event included honoring the annual Golden Chip Award winners. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman of the UN Global Alliance for ICT and Development, won the Arab ICT Personality of the Year 2010 in the MENA region. In the meanwhile, Alec Ross, Senior Advisor to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and a key advisor to President Barack Obama in the fields of ICT and innovation won the International ICT Personality of the Year 2010 on the same region.
Head of the administrative body at JCS Ghazi Al-Qarout commented “We are devoted to participating in related regional and international events, mainly because of the real cooperation and experience-sharing opportunities they carry. Additionally, we welcome the opportunity to participate in outlining the regions upcoming strategies, especially when it comes to its development.”
It is worth mentioning that MENA Informatics and Telecommunication week conducted under the patronage of H.E. Shaikh Ahmed Bin Atiyatalla Al Khalifa, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Kingdom of Bahrain, is considered an annual tribune, gathering prominent figures with extensive experiences in this field. They discuss pan-Arab strategies that aim at continuous development for information technology and telecommunications in general.
Al-Qarout added: “this participation reflects our undivided attention to the region’s activities and events. Such participations enrich the base we build on, heading for the future.”
