The Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) has concluded the activities of the training program designed to help the participants in the Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition (QRNEC) for the year 2012 turn their business ideas into successful projects.
The program which took place between 2 June and 19 July, 2012 featured several training courses specialized in enhancing Entrepreneurship and business-related skills, including business planning, marketing, financial management and development of human resources. Sponsored by National Fund for Enterprise Support (NAFES), the training program was held under the supervision of an elite team of business instructors and experts.
In her comment, Acting Manager of NAFES, Rima Ras, praised QRCE’s unremitting efforts in fueling the spirit of creativity and innovation among Jordanian talented youth and providing them with the technical skills and practical expertise needed to transform their start-ups into successful long-lasting projects.
For his part, QRNEC’s Program Manager, Eng. Mohammad Shahin, said that the training program comes in line with QRCE’s objectives to invest in the emerging generation which represents a strategic choice strongly aligned with national development.
To reach the largest possible number of participants, Eng. Shahin noted that joint efforts were launched with Quyrwan Company to make the training courses available on the Internet to enable participants living in different areas across the Kingdom to watch the training sessions online, thus eliminating the need for them to come personally to the center.
It is worth mentioning that more than 700 participants in the QRNEC Award 2012 were distributed over 250 teams, 66 of which managed to pass the first stage of the competition and are competing in the areas of ICT, Biotechnology, Renewable Energy, Water, Life Sciences, and Advanced Technologies, in addition to the newly-added field of Social Entrepreneurship.
Remarkably, over $30,000 will be awarded to the winners in the annual competition organized by QRCE under the sponsorship of a wide spectrum of local and international organizations, including Intel, Jordan Ahli Bank, and N2V.
