T Emirates: The New York Times Style Magazine, a bi-monthly, will appeal to an elite segment of consumers in the UAE. T Emirates will reach the key opinion leaders, style aficionados and businessmen in the country, with an eclectic mix of fashion, art and lifestyle articles, targeting men and women.
Internationally, the highly successful T: The New York Times Style Magazine has revamped itself this year, prompting the syndicated editions, including T Emirates, to follow the new and improved design and strategy. Under the direction of Editor Deborah Needleman, the revitalized magazine will have a more expansive approach to covering the luxury lifestyle, as well as a new look and publication schedule.
The issues will retain their themes dedicated to Women’s Fashion, Men’s Fashion, Design, Travel and Holiday. However, each issue will cover a broader range of culture and style topics from among the worlds of fashion, beauty, art, design, travel and lifestyle. The redesigned magazine will have a larger format, a higher-quality paper stock and an increased number of pages in the feature well.
“T has always been a peerless style and fashion brand. I am excited to build on this by reimagining the magazine itself so that it is best suited to showcasing beautiful photography and culturally rich subject matter,” said Deborah Needleman, Editor of T Magazine. “By covering the breadth of style subjects in every issue, and publishing on a more regular schedule, our aim is to serve our readers better and create a deeper connection to the magazine.”
In T Emirates, 55 percent of the content will be sourced from the international magazine and 45 percent will be locally produced.
The preview issue of T Emirates: The New York Times Style Magazine, has been circulated in the UAE in January and February 2013, prompting a tremendous response. The zero issue included premium international and local content such as interviews with Wissam Al Mana, Gucci’s Patrizio Di Marco and Jude Law, with the latter on the cover.
In its inaugural issue, some of the local tie ups include the prestigious Art Dubai 2013 and Design Days Dubai 2013, as well as the new regional platform for the fashion industry, Fashion Forward 2013 (FFWD).
The magazine is published in the UAE by United Media Services International (UMS International), an established media and communications company, headquartered in Oman. This is the company’s second foray with the T franchise, after the successful launch of T Qatar in 2009.
Going forward, exclusive VIP copies will be sent to a select database of very high net worth individuals (HNIs). T Emirates will also be available at all prestigious bookshops and newsstands. The magazine will be distributed by Gulf News Distribution and printed by Emirates Press in Dubai.
