Mediaquest Corp. launches the first digital copy of a magazine on the Apple iPad in the Middle East. Mediaquest announces TRENDS magazine can be accessed on iTunes via App Stores and seeking to additional readers.
TRENDS magazine was founded in 1998 and it is positioned as the leading international magazine on Arab affairs. With local correspondents throughout the Middle East, the magazine provides business leaders and senior officials with critical insight. TRENDS writers report on and analyze the events shaping the political, social, and economic issues of the Gulf, Levant, South Asia, and North Africa. For more than a decade the magazine has delivered sterling insight and analysis on the region. TRENDS readers are located throughout the region, with a large concentration in the Arabian Gulf. Business managers and policy-makers look to TRENDS to anticipate changes in the regional landscape and to help frame decisions.
Alexandre Hawari, co-CEO of Mediaquest, said: “Even though the print edition of TRENDS has an audited circulation of over 50,000 copies a month, Mediaquest is still eager to attract new readers and we believe that the iPad application can help us do this. At $5.99 for one month, this represents excellent value which is almost the same price as the print edition but now accessible worldwide.”
Mediaquest’s co- CEO Julien Hawari added: “Mediaquest is at the cutting edge of new media, it would be wrong of us to ignore the popularity of the iPad in the region and the appetite for content through new technology. What’s more, the iPad version of TRENDS will carry advertising which should be particularly appealing to those who want exposure to high tech readers on the go.”
With leading online titles such as Kippreport and Kazdar.com, and media representation for dozens more, Mediaquest is already a strong force in the region’s digital media marketplace. Mediaquest will add further titles on the iPad application in the coming months as well as provide its large portfolio of magazines on smart phones.
MediaquestCorp. was founded in 1987 in Paris. It publishes in three languages with operations on three continents. With over 200 employees and 25 consumer and trade titles covering business, marketing, communications, women’s interests, lifestyle and entertainment, MediaquestCorp. is poised to become one of the leading media companies in the Middle East and North Africa. The company built its reputation through a portfolio of well-regarded business titles including Trends, Saneou Al Hadath, Arabies, Communicate and GMR.
