Voting for “Doodle 4 Google – I love Football” competition goes live!
MENA residents encouraged to select the best Doodle between June 1st to 7th.

Dubai, UAE 31 May: Last week over 170 students from across the UAE took up the “Doodle 4 Google – I love Football” challenge, redesigning the Google logo in the spirit of football. Representing a multitude of nationalities, including Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, the UAE, France, England, India, Pakistan and a host of other nations, the competition brought out the very best of the children’s artistic talent.
From the submissions received a panel of judges narrowed the entries down to the top ten finalists. Google is now calling on all MENA users to log on and vote for their favorite Doodle between June 1st to June 7th. Each vote counts, and each vote is a demonstration of support for the Middle East winner, who’s Doodle will go on to represent the MENA region in the global phase of the competition! The semi-finalist are; Noyona Biswas, Krishna Bala Shensi, Saleem Mohammed Markabiah, Aeren Jan Samera, Alston Rodriguez, Rimsha Kidwai, Kholud Yasser Mansour, Alia Abdul Aziz, Aniroddh S. Menon and Maria Shane Mesine.
“Doodle 4 Google – I love Football” is part of an exciting international initiative for young students, the competition has two levels: national and international. The winning MENA Doodle, as voted by the public, will be announced on June 14th and displayed on all MENA Google domains. The winner will also receive a digital drawing board and automatically enter the global ‘I Love Football’ competition with other top designs selected from around the 17 countries. The overall winner of the international phase will see their doodle on selected Google homepages of the 17 participating countries and win four tickets and expense paid holiday to South Africa.
About Doodle 4 Google:
The Doodle 4 Google competition is open to all children and teenagers, across 17 participating countries, and is an opportunity for young artists to be challenged to create an image around the ‘I love of football’ theme, that is independent from any specific team they support.
The Doodle must not show any representation, logo or symbol of a specific country or a team or a sporting event such as: football teams badges, any country flags, any football tournaments symbols or logos.
Parental consent is required for minors to enter the competition
