Tecom’s first brand, DIC was launched in October 2000 and has managed to bring in many big names to the city, including Microsoft, Cisco, IBM, HP, Dell, and Sun Microsystems. The zone hosts more than 850 other companies, ranging from software developers, e-commerce, consultancies, sales and marketing and back office.
In March this year, DIC announced that 112 new companies moved into the zone in 2007, a 33 per cent growth over 2006. Tecom also manages the Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum IT Education Project, a program that seeks to raise IT literacy in the UAE.
